Class One went to Wimpole Hall on the minibus driven by Mrs. Dale.  We went on Tuesday morning to see mini-beasts and meet Simon the bug man. First we looked at all the mini-beasts he had found. They were dead and he kept them in pots. Next we looked in cow pooh and there were bugs in there. The beetles were called Dung Beetles, they eat pooh and they like to live in it. After that we looked in sheep pooh. There were tiny white maggots in it that grow into flies. Finally we went on our own bug hunt. We found worms, newts, spiders, a baby daddy-long-legs, ladybird babies, water boatmen, snails, red beetles called Cardinal Beetles, ants, centipedes, wood lice, butterflies, millipedes, bumble bees, red ants, Dung Beetles, baby ants, slugs and ants eggs. After we had finished hunting for bugs we put them all back and we all had a turn at holding a newt. Then we washed our hands and then we got back on the minibus and went back to school for our picnic lunch.
